Evaluating your programme

In order to get a full, 360-degree perspective of your DESMOND service, it is always a good idea to include participant evaluations. Traditionally this has been paper-based and completed at the end of the programme, but with the technology available, you may want to consider doing this via an electronic link to an online questionnaire such as Survey Monkey or Microsoft Form.

We can help and support you with this as part of our DESMOND Evaluate theme - more info can be found here.

Top Tip

  • Get evaluations completed on the day, when the participants are still in the room with you - either hand them the form or post to the chat function in your virtual software. If you wait, it will dramatically reduce the number of responses you get

Different types of evaluation forms have been tested. - paper-based and online such as Survey Monkey, Google Forms or MS Forms.

Top Tip

  • It is good practice to run the proposed evaluation form (or a number of examples) past your PPI committee for approval

In addition to participant evaluation, you may also want to consider asking any observers to provide feedback in return for allowing them to observe.

And don’t forget that all the data you are collecting is rich promotional material, you can use this on your social media, in press releases or on your promotion flyers and posters.
