Number of facilitators and Group Size

As with face to face DESMOND Let’s Prevent Diabetes (LPD), virtual LPD is delivered by two Facilitators. When you are delivering a session your co-Facilitator may:

  • Assist participants who lose connection

  • Assist participants who may arrive late to the session 

  • Address any issues generated from the ‘Chat’ function

  • Assist by generating ‘virtual flip charts’  of beliefs/ comments made by participants

  • Assist by screen sharing the visual resources whilst their co-facilitator is delivering the session

Current guidance on social distancing will need to be followed, therefore Facilitators may need to log in and use separate devices in separate rooms. 

We suggest starting with a small number of participants (a minimum of four), increasing group size as facilitator confidence and experience increases, to a maximum of 10 participants plus guest on the same login.
