Delivering DESMOND to Participants from the Deaf Community

Following a project funded by the Greater Manchester and Eastern Cheshire Strategic Clinical Networks, in conjunction with the Manchester Deaf Centre, we are pleased to share our toolkit for Educators delivering DESMOND to the Deaf Community. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD.

We have also produced a separate toolkit to support BSL interpreters with the process of interpreting DESMOND. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD.

There is also a further support handout for participants upon completion of the course. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD.

However, before Educators deliver DESMOND to the Deaf Community, we would strongly encourage the following:

1) That you are accredited (please email our QD mailbox to book your observation if you are not yet accredited desmondqd@uhl-tr.nhs.uk

2) That you attend one of our Academy sessions to discuss some key considerations around delivery. Please take a look at https://www.desmond.nhs.uk/academy for our next workshop. If there is not a date available, please email us on desmondweb@uhl-tr.nhs.uk to register your interest in a future workshop.
