Advertising on referring practice websites

Most practices will have a website advertising their services, with possible links to electronic appointment bookings and prescription requests. If possible, this would be another great resource to use to help promote your local DESMOND offer.

You will need to speak to your referring practices to see if it is possible to add a page, or even just some useful links, to their website. If you are given permission, then feel free to adapt the text below to suit your needs. Remember, it is good practice to include the DESMOND logo as well as the provider organisation. If they have the capability you could embed your promo animation that you create for your waiting areas here also.

Then speak to your GP or Practice Nurse about DESMOND . There are group and digital options to suit all needs

The group programme is a 6-hour course and is either held at a local venue or over the internet.

It is a friendly, informal group-based course where you will learn about:

• what happens in the body of someone with Type 2 diabetes

• key food messages for people with Type 2 diabetes

• the recommendations for physical activity levels and how to increase what you are currently doing

The course is designed to help you make sustainable lifestyle changes and to be the beginning  of your self-management journey.
