DESMOND Newly Diagnosed module available (for patients up to 12 months post diagnosis)

DESMOND Foundation module available (for those with established diabetes)

Overview

Richmond and Twickenham PCT has been running DESMOND sessions successfully for over two years. We have recently increased our service to offer 2 or more sessions per month in different centres in the Borough. This is in response to the increased demand for the courses over the past 12 months.

We have five Educators at the present time. We expect to have another two shortly. We also have an administrator who liaises with all DESMOND personnel, on a regular basis, to maintain uniformity in the delivery of the service. We work closely with all GP Practices within our Trust to deliver information regarding DESMOND courses and liaise with clinical staff to ensure that we deliver an efficient and effective service.
